Walking on Air: The Grand Opening of the Walkway over the Hudson
People will have the opportunity to see a new vista. This is the essence of Hudson's voyage up the river. This is, after all, the essence of Hudson's voyage up the river that now bears his name -adventure-to go where no one has gone before. Those who step on the Walkway on October 2, 3 & 4, 2009 will have that experience. Their breath will be taken away as they will forge a new path in history and provide generations of stories and re-visits with their families and friends for years to come. No one who walks across the bridge as part of this celebration will ever forget the exhilaration of that day. People literally will be "high as kites" and "walking on Air."
